The GCGC is accepting applications for a graduate research assistant to begin in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023. The assistantship is open to master’s students working toward a degree in Geography at USM. Selection for this assistantship will be contingent upon acceptance to the USM Geography master’s program. Students with research interests aligned with the mission of the GCGC will be considered, including but not limited to: Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) applications, precise positioning, coastal biogeography, coastal modeling, Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) applications, remote sensing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Applicants should be highly motivated, able to work successfully both independently and collaboratively, and have strong quantitative, analytical, and writing skills. The assistantship will include a tuition waiver as well as a stipend of $2,000 per month.
Please apply by July 29, 2022 for Fall 2022 consideration, or by November 1, 2022 for Spring 2023 consideration. If you are not currently enrolled in the USM Geography master's program, please make sure to have your application to the USM Graduate School submitted by these deadlines as well.
