Elizabeth LaFleur, D.B.A.

Associate Dean & MBA Director

Dr. Beth LaFleur is the Associate Dean of the College of Business Gulf Coast and Director of the Professional MBA Program.  She is a Professor of Marketing, and joined the Southern Miss Gulf Coast faculty in 2004.  Prior to 2004, she was a member of the business faculty at Nicholls State University, Spring Hill College and the University of South Alabama where she also was the Director of the Small Business Development Program and the Small Business Institute.  Dr. LaFleur has over 35 years of professional experience in the business world, consulting and academics.  She also serves on the Advisory Board of Foreign Trade Zone #92, one of 3 FTZ’s in the state of Mississippi.


Professional Honors and Accomplishments

Dr. LaFleur is a Senior Fulbright Scholar (Mauritius, 1997-98) and received the Presidential Award for Teaching Excellence at Nicholls State University.  She is the recipient of numerous research and best paper awards, and service awards.  She was inducted into several international marketing honoraries, Phi Kappa Phi, and Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.

Dr. LaFleur’s research has been published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, the Journal of Marketing Education, the Journal of Healthcare Marketing, Marketing Health Services, the Marketing Educator, the International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research, Tourism Analysis, the Journal of Computer Information Systems, the Journal of the Academy of Business Education, Personnel Administrator, Marine Fisheries Review and the International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management.  Her research has been published in other academic journals and in the proceedings of international, national and regional professional conferences in marketing and management.  She has also received numerous grants for her research.  She began her career as an Industrial Market Research Analyst.
