Services Provided

Direct Service Provision to Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder

During the 2016-2017 school year, Autism Project staff will operate classrooms at the Autism Demonstration School, which is a school for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder in which relevant evidence-based practices are demonstrated.

Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ages 3-9 on or before September 1st, may be considered for placement in these classrooms.  Please see "Resources" for contact information and the application.

Autism Project staff conducts trainings within the space they occupy at Long Beach Middle School and elsewhere in the state for aspiring and practicing educators, parents, and members of the general public who have interest in learning about school-based programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Trainings can be designed to meet the needs of a broad range of school personnel and parents, including general and special education teachers (preschool - 12th grade) and personnel who provide related services to students with autism and other developmental disabilities.

The Autism Project also serves as an appropriate placement for university and community college students who must complete coursework that includes a student teaching assignment, practicum experience, or externship.
