The mission of the Department of Child and Family Studies is to educate and inspire students to improve the lives of children, families and communities.  The Department emphasizes a systemic approach that prepares students to become child and family human service and education professionals.  All students in the Department participate in hands-on learning activities through laboratory and practicum experiences at the Univeristy Center for Child Development, the University Clinic for Family Therapy and/or other approved community sites.  The Department offers academic programs that prepare future pre-kindergarten and kindergarten teachers and health and human service professionals for challenging and rewarding careers.
