Gulf Park Health Center Temporarily Moving

The Gulf Park Health Center has temporarily relocated to the former Business Complex building. For questions or additional information, call 228.214.3300.

The Health Center provides basic medical care such as first aid and treats a variety of health problems, including acute minor illnesses such as colds and allergies. The Center also offers preventive screenings, such as blood pressure, cholesterol, weight and HIV.

Students, faculty and staff at The University of Southern Mississippi's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach can now receive telemedicine consultations from Student Health Services physicians at the main campus in Hattiesburg through a telehealth connection set up and maintained by the Center for Telehealth at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).

The nursing staffs on both Southern Miss campuses were trained to operate the equipment by representatives from the UMMC Center for Telehealth.

A physician is able to see and speak with a student, faculty or staff about his or her symptoms, and networked otoscopes and stethoscopes can provide needed information that the physician can use to form a diagnosis and establish the best course of treatment.

Telehealth provides quality physician-based care and treatment plans to students, faculty and staff at Southern Miss in Long Beach through the Student Health Center Monday through Thursday of each week during normal operating hours.
