Brooke Oubre

  • Since graduating in 2005, Ms. Oubre has worked in the fields of nutrition and wellness for hospital and lab companies including Forrest General Hospital, Berkeley Heart Lab, Inc., and Health Diagnostic Laboratory, Inc.  She worked as an adjunct instructor at Pearl River Community College and have experience working as a dietitian in long term care.

  • In her professional career Ms. Oubre created educational handouts for patients as well as host community group sessions on various nutrition topics.  She reviewed advanced cardiovascular laboratory profiles with patients and make appropriate lifestyle recommendations to help improve outcomes.  Ms. Oubre developed a personalized plan, based on genetic laboratory results to help patients reduce risk of cardiovascular disease and diabetes.  She assisted patients in developing nutrition, exercise and stress management goals and monitor progress. Additionally, she is active in her church at St. Peter the Apostle in Hoover, Alabama and have volunteered at a local women’s shelter through a church outreach program.

  • While working at Forrest General Hospital Ms. Oubre served as a preceptor for dietetic interns.  She has also presented as a guest speaker at the Genetics Seminar that was recently hosted by the Department of Food and Nutrition.  Ms. Oubre supports the Golden Eagles and enjoy tailgating and attending football games.
