First Year Mentors

The First-Year Mentors are vital in the transition for our incoming freshmen. Mentors are responsible for developing a relationship with first-year mentees to encourage social and academic success by engaging students in campus life and easing the transition from high school to college. By developing this meaningful relationship, Mentors serve as peer advisors and encourage their mentees to develop holistically and take advantage of all of the opportunities that the Honors College and Southern Miss provide.
