McCarty hall

Located directly across from the football practice fields on the corner of Eagle Walk and 4th Street, sits Osceola McCarty Hall. McCarty Hall is named for the great philanthropist Osceola McCarty. Ms. McCarty was a local washerwoman from Hattiesburg who donated her entire life savings to the university, so that others less fortunate could receive the gift of an education. This residence hall houses mostly upperclassmen and student athletes. These students reside in 2-person rooms with private bathrooms. Each floor has a study lounge and/or media space with tv's and chairs for group hangouts and other activities.
