Resources for Current Graduate Students

History Graduate Student Handbook

The History Department's Graduate Student Handbook is the official source of information for graduate students in the department, including topics such as graduate committees, time limits, foreign language requirements, assistantships and fellowships, comprehensive exams, major and minor fields, and a myriad of other topics.  Graduate Students in the department should read the handbook at least once a semester and and refer to it often.

Graduate Bulletin

The Graduate Bulletin is the other essential source of information about general and degree requirements for graduate students.  Students are responsible for the requirements in the Graduate Bulletin in place when they entered the program.

PhD Comprehensive Exam Reading Lists

Note: These are the current reading lists.  To a certain degree, graduate students are responsible for the reading list in place when they entered the program.  Speak to your examiners, committee chair, or the DGS if you have questions about which list you should be using.
