Assistant Director of Engagement

Nneka Ayozie hails from the great city of Jackson, MS. She serves as the Assistant Director of Engagement for the USM Office of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement (IME). Her current role allows her to connect Southern Miss students with the Pine Belt community and the world through the IMPACT Community Work-Study program and the Alternative Service Break program. Her goal is to assist students in fostering relationships with local community partners and tapping into their own spirit of service and civic engagement.
Before working in IME, Nneka was the Assistant Director for the Center for Community Engagement and previously an Activities Coordinator for the Center for Student Involvement at the University of Houston (UH). She graduated from THEE Jackson State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and then completed her Masters in Higher Education at the University of Houston in 2015. When she is not working she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and organizing.
