Policy Statement


 

Career Services no longer keeps letters of recommendation for student/alumni job applicants who have accounts with Career Services. 


Reason for Policy/Purpose


This policy is required for the effective communication of university policies regarding credential/recommendation files.

All members of The University of Southern Mississippi community.

Policy/Procedures


As of July 1, 2007 Southern Miss Career Services will refer all students and alumni who create an Eagle Employment account and request credential file management to Interfolio: http://www.interfolio.com. (Interfolio charges a fee to house credential files)

 

Career Services kept letters of recommendation on file for accounts prior to July 1, 2007, but all letters in those files were shredded in July  2012.

Review


The Director of Career Services is responsible for the review of this policy every four years (or whenever circumstances require immediate review).
