OBSTRUCTION OF CORRIDORS, LOBBIES, LOUNGES AND WALKWAYS POLICY
In support of state and university fire-safety evacuation codes and out of respect for students with disabilities, it is essential that residents comply with the guideline that all corridors, lobbies, lounges and walkways in and around the halls must be free from any obstructions at all times.
Reason for Policy/Purpose
This policy is required for the effective communication of university policy regarding obstruction of corridors, lobbies, lounges and walkways.
Who Needs to Know This Policy
All students of The University of Southern Mississippi community living on campus.

All personal belongings such as bicycles, skateboards, athletic equipment and ironing boards must never be left to obstruct the flow of traffic. All obstructions will be removed by Residence Life staff and will be discarded.
Sleeping is not permitted in the corridors, lobbies, lounges and walkways.
The Director of Student Housing Administration is responsible for the review of this policy every four years (or whenever circumstances require immediate review).
