Anita Davis

Associate Professor of Music Education

Dr. Davis is an accomplished educational researcher and musician with extensive experience in interdisciplinary teaching and learning, talent development, and music performance. Her accomplished career path involved many diverse populations as she directed highly recognized music programs in secondary schools and non-profit organizations, developed technology-enhanced undergraduate and graduate programs, administrated educational research collaborations, and served university faculty through leadership in curricular development and governance affairs. The National Endowment for the Arts, the National Science Foundation, and the U. S. Department of Education—along with state and local agencies, and university awards—provided significant funding for Dr. Davis to guide outreach programs and multi-agency research projects that increased opportunities for students who are often underrepresented to successfully engage in the development of multi-disciplinary talents in sciences and arts.
