Installing the inSync Software

Windows

If you need to manually install the inSync client, you can download it from:
https://downloads.druva.com/insync/client/5-9-9/

  1. If you have previously installed inSync, we recommend that you uninstall it, then delete the C:\inSync4 folder if it still exists.
  2. Double-click the file you downloaded to install the software.
  3. The Activate inSync wizard should appear; if not, open inSync from the Start Menu or the inSync icon icon in the system tray.
  4. Enter the following information to activate inSync:
    Drop down, choose: On Premise
    Server URL: insync.usm.edu
Email: Enter your official email address
    Password: Enter your CampusID password
    Activate inSync

Mac

Download the inSync client from:
https://downloads.druva.com/insync/client/5-9-6/

  1. Double-click the file you downloaded to mount the .dmg file.
  2. Double-click the inSync installer inside the mounted volume.

After installing, you must activate the inSync client with your account information:

  1. Launch the inSync client. Depending on what version of inSync you first installed, the inSync icon may be directly in the Applications directory or in an "inSync" folder.
  2. The inSync client opens a minimized state as in inSync icon in your Menu Bar with a yellow warning symbol to let you know that the client has not been activated yet.

    Password: Enter your CampusID password

  4. If this is not your first time using inSync, you will be asked whether your computer is a new device or a replacement for an existing device, and whether you want to restore your system and application.
  5. Once activation is complete, the inSync client will minimize. The inSync icon in the menu bar will turn green, and the arrows will start to turn to show that it is running your first backup.
