Trumpet 2, Southern Arts Brass Quintet
Anderson Lagoin Romero was born in Votuporanga, Sao Paulo (Brazil). He began his musical studies in 1996 at the Conservatory of Votuporanga, with teacher Horácio dos Santos Jr. He integrated the São Paulo State Youth Band, the University of Sao Paulo Chamber Orchestra, the University of Sao Paulo Trumpet Quartet, and the University of Sao Paulo Brass Quintet. In 2007, the USP Brass Quintet began a tour in Italy and Switzerland, in which Brazilian music were performed. In 2009, he was named principal trumpet of the Conservatory of Tatui Symphonic Orchestra, Sao Paulo (Brazil), where he performed during their 2009 season.
Anderson has participated in the Campos do Jordão Winter Festival - bands division (2001, 2002), Music at the Mountains Festival - Poços de Caldas (2006, 2008), Itu Arts Festival (2007), and Campos do Jordão International Winter Festival (2008). He also attended workshops with trumpet teachers Marc Brian Reese, Rolf Smedvig, Olivier Anthony Theurillat, Konradin Gröth, Fred Mills, Fernando Dissenha, Oscarindo Roque Filho, Wynton Marsalis, Brian Shaw and Bo Nilsson.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Music in trumpet performance at the University of São Paulo, under the orientation of Dr. Sérgio Cascapera.
Anderson is pursuing his Master’s of Music Degree at The University of Southern Mississippi, where he was under orientation of Dr. Daniel Kelly, and currently is under the guidance of Prof. Jason Bergman. He is also the Graduate Teaching Assistant for the USM Trumpet Studio. He is principal trumpet of the Southern Miss ensembles, Trumpet5, Brass Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, and the Symphony Orchestra.
