Center for Child Development Hosting Benefit Art Sale, Silent Auction

The Center for Child Development at The University of Southern Mississippi, located at 3404 Morningside Drive at the northwest corner of the Hattiesburg campus, is hosting a silent auction now through Friday to raise funds to purchase new playground equipment.
Final bids for the auction will be held Monday, Dec. 6 at the Center from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Artwork produced by the children who attend the Center will also be “on sale” during the final bid event Dec. 6, available for purchase using canned goods as cash. The collected food will be given to Edwards Street Fellowship Center in Hattiesburg for distribution to needy families.
Auction items have been donated by area businesses and include a round of golf for two at the Canebrake Golf Club; gift cards to Starbucks and Blockbuster Video; a one-hour massage session from Healing Touch; and many others that can make the perfect holiday gift for family and friends. Bids may be made at the Center from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Accredited by the National Academy for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) it operates under the auspices of the Department of Child and Family Studies, serving as a teaching and research facility for faculty and students while providing quality care for children of Southern Miss students, faculty and staff.
