National Endowment for Humanities Summer Stipend Application Deadline Sept. 13

Universityof Southern Mississippifaculty members of all ranks are encouraged to apply for a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend by the deadline of 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13.

The Summer Stipend supports humanities research contributing to scholarly knowledge and the public's understanding of the humanities. It includes up to $6,000 for two consecutive, uninterrupted months of full-time independent study and research. Up to two faculty members per institution are accepted as nominees for the stipend.

A campus committee using NEH guidelines for selection will review applications. Winners receive additional funding from the Southern Miss Office of the Provost that, combined with the NEH award, will equal the recipient's summer teaching salary.
