Science Caf Series to Feature Presentation on Memory Sept. 27

The University of Southern Mississippi's Science Café @ Cook Library series will feature a presentation on memory Monday, Sept. 27 from 6-8 p.m. by Dr. Vijay Rangachari, an assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the university.

Held in the Starbucks coffee shop at Cook Library, The Science Café series offers those with minimal or no background in science the chance to meet and discuss scientific issues in layman's terms in a relaxed social setting. A member of the Southern Miss faculty shares his or her expertise at each session with a presentation and short video. Admission is free and open to the public.

The remaining schedule for the series this fall follows:

·         Monday, Oct. 25, 6-8 p.m. – Topic: Personal DNA Testing. Presenter: Dr. Kuppareddi Balamurugan, assistant professor of criminal justice.

·         Monday, Nov. 29, 6-8 p.m. – Topic: Gangster Birds. Presenter: Dr. Frank Moore, professor of biological sciences.
