Southern Miss Gulf Coast Autism Project to Host Open House Dec. 10

The Autism Project, a university-based program at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast, invites the public to an open house Friday, Dec. 10 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the program's Demonstration School, located at Long Beach Middle School on North Cleveland Avenue.

Serving as a demonstration facility for school personnel and caregivers, the mission of the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Autism Project is to design and implement appropriate school-based programs for students with autism who qualify for special education services in Mississippi.

The Autism Project serves as a partnership between Southern Miss, the Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities and the Mississippi Department of Education. The program provides activities available to students, caregivers, school personnel, and citizens throughout Mississippi.
