Southern Miss National Sports Security Center Adds NVTouch Computer System

As part of its mission to keep training and preparedness at the forefront, the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi has partnered with NVision Solutions to install the new NVTouch computer technology.
Earlier this year, NVision became a founding partner of NCS4, providing Real-Time Emergency Action Coordination technology as part of the center's SportEvac tool developed to help sports stadium officials train for and provide security for sports events worldwide.
“The installation of the NVTouch computer system in our lab represents another valuable asset for the center,” said Steve Miller, director, Systems Integration at NCS4. “The advancement of training and development as well as situational awareness will be enhanced by this tool. We will use this system to develop new interactive methods for training, modeling and simulation in our industry.”
NVision launched U.S. sales of the NVTouch system with installations at NASA headquarters in Washington D.C. and the NASA Stennis Space Center Emergency Operations Center. Other entities currently utilizing the technology include the Hancock County Emergency Operations Center in St. Tammany Parish, La., and the Center for Asymmetric Warfare in Monterey, Calif.

Established in 2006, The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security was created to provide an interdisciplinary academic environment to further increase sport security awareness, improve sport security policies and procedures and enhance emergency response through evacuation, recovery operations and crowd management training.
