Childrens Literature Expert to present for Southern Miss University Forum

The University of Southern Mississippi's de Grummond Children's Literature Collection and Honors College will present Dr. Gary Schmidt for the spring University Forum Tuesday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium.
A writing professor at Calvin College in Alto, Mich., Schmidt is the author of many books including The Wednesday Wars, The Wonders of Donal O'Donnell, and First Boy. A Newbery Honor Book and Printz Honor Book, Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy, tells of friendship and baseball in rural Maine during the early 1900s.His new book, OK for Now, will be released on Tuesday and an autographing session will follow his lecture.
