Doing business in the 21st century means even the smallest companies can, and often do, sell services and goods to a global market and need to be savvy to the intricate rules and regulations of exporting products.

A project of The University of Southern Mississippi College of Business, Export University, examines the ins-and-outs of exporting goods in a two day seminar beginning February 23 on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. The seminar is geared toward marketing and sales management and staff; import/export operations personnel, purchasing, logistics, and any other individual with a responsibility for import/export functions.

Export University is a training program of the Mississippi District Export Council, an affiliate of the U.S. Department of Commerce. This series of courses on exporting is designed to help Mississippi companies begin an export initiative, so as to gain increasing skills and innovativeness in their international sales.

“The Export University presenters are international trade practitioners who are members of the Mississippi District Export Council, which is a group of private-sector individuals appointed by the Secretary of Commerce to provide mentoring on exporting,” explained Assistant Professor of International Business, Dr. John Lambert. “They will present the course material drawing from their extensive experience in international trade.”
