Southern Miss Conner Receives Medical Technology Degree

Heather White Conner, a University of Southern Mississippi senior from Natchez, Miss., received her bachelor of science degree in medical technology during the university's fall Centennial Celebration Commencement Dec. 10. She was also honored that day for her achievement in a special ceremony recognizing medical technology graduates at the R.C. Cook University Union.

At Southern Miss, Conner was a College of Health Ambassador; vice president of the Medical Technology Club; and vice president of the American Society of Clinical Laboratory Science Student Forum. The daughter of Darrell and Lisa White, she is married to Sean Conner and they have one child, Camryn Conner.

Medical technology, also known as clinical laboratory science, is a scientific health care discipline that deals with pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing of patient specimens.
