Yoga Mantra Musicians to Perform At Lifelong Learning Institute

With the rise in popularity of yoga in recent years, more and more westerners are opening to the practice of kirtan, chanting mantras as a form of meditation and spiritual practice.

Celebrated New Orleans mantra musicians Sean Johnson and The Wild Lotus Band will perform Wednesday, May 4 at 7:00 p.m. at The University of Southern MississippiOsher Lifelong Learning Institute. The band includes Johnson on vocals and harmonium; vocalist and percussionist Gwendolyn Colman; and Alvin Young on fretless bass and guitar. 

Tickets are on sale at Southern Miss Recreational Sports(Payne Center) and will be available at the door. Tickets prices are $35 for general public, $15 for students, and $25 for Southern Miss Faculty/Staff, Payne Center members, OLLI members and select local yoga students. Children twelve years and younger are admitted FREE with “chew toy” for cats or dogs to benefit Southern Pines Animal Shelter.
