WUSM Presents T Bird and the Breaks on Oct. 6 at Tailgate Concert Series

Wed, 10/03/2012 - 11:10am | By: Van Arnold

The WUSM Tailgate Concert Series continues on Saturday, Oct. 6th with T Bird and the Breaks performing before Southern Miss hosts Boise State in a nationally televised football contest at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

Catch great, free, live music on Centennial Green in the heart of the Southern Miss campus starting at 8 a.m. The Golden Eagles and Broncos will square off in an 11 a.m. kickoff on FOX.

T Bird and the Breaks are sure to entertain with a new style of music. With a sound that pulls from the origins of hip hop, the alleyways of the Crescent City, the grease and grime of an old-school soul review, and all seven of the deadly sins, the Breaks have developed into a locomotive; slowly pumping across America, leaving crowds drenched with sweat and walking funny the next morning.

By playing show after sold-out show, T Bird and the Breaks have amassed a die-hard following of fans from Texas to the Bird's home state of Massachusetts to San Francisco and back again.

The tailgate concert series is a free event that is open to the public. It will be held on USM's Hattiesburg campus at the Centennial Green located next to Danforth Chapel.

AAA Ambulance Service, The USM College of Arts and Letters, iTech at the University of Southern Mississippi, The U.S. Army, Rocket City Diner, Hattiesburg Coca-Cola, and The Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott, are sponsoring the WUSM Tailgate Concert Series.
