Fans Vote on Pride of Mississippis October Show Music

The Pride of Mississippi marching band at The University of Southern Mississippi has started a contest to allow fans to vote on the music for its Oct. 5 performance at the Golden Eagles' home game against Florida International.
Voting continues through Friday, Aug. 30 at noon. From the big band and the Beach Boys to today's top hits, fans are asked to select three of their favorites for the marching band to perform.
“What better way to get the fans involved even more than to have them pick the playlist?” said Dr. Jamie Standland, director of The Pride.
Log on to www.usm.edu/music to pick your favorite tunes and join all the festivities and find out what was selected at the next home game.
