The University of Southern Mississippi Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach and the Alumni Association recently wrapped up its first-ever Alumni Professional Development Summit.

The summit offered opportunities for alumni to network and gain new knowledge and skills from a distinguished group of university faculty and staff members and other accomplished alumni. Sessions included social and digital media marketing, small business development and management, new technology, generational changes in the workplace, arts in education, mental health and more.

The Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach works to extend the university to the community by offering professional development and other educational opportunities. They provide innovative programs and services to the nontraditional student, working professional, business and industry, and the university's academic and administrative units and partner with university subject matter experts and external constituencies to create and support learning venues that broaden individual competencies and meet the workforce training needs of the community and beyond.
