Industrial Audiometry and Hearing Certification offered at Southern Miss

The University of Southern Mississippi Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach will host the Industrial Audiometry and Hearing Certification Workshop on Aug. 5-7 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on the Southern Miss Hattiesburg campus.

Topics to be covered will include introduction to audiometry, physics and measurement of sound, anatomy and physiology of hearing conservation, audiometric testing, employee education, otoscopy, interpretation and record-keeping and medical-legal aspects of hearing conservation.

Safety directors, safety engineers, human resource and training directors, industrial nurses and other personnel responsible for compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration noise and hearing loss regulations will benefit from attending.

The cost to attend for certification is $625 and $350 for recertification. There is a $25 late fee after July 27. This workshop is approved by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).
