COST Students Participate in Biomedical Conference

Ten University of Southern Mississippi College of Science and Technology (COST) students are in Seattle Nov. 11-14 to participate in the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minorities (ABRCMS).

LaToyia Downs, Brittany Trunell, Suzette Wafford-Turner, Tiera Corey, Kristen Dupard, Danviona King, Alexis Sanders, Ashley Davis, and Tamara Wright will present their research on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

ABRCMS is the largest conference for underrepresented minority students looking to advance their education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The students were chosen based on their past research experience, recommendation by faculty members and academic performance.

Over the course of the four-day conference, these students will participate in a poster and oral presentation, network with professionals, and learn about more opportunities in graduate school and internships. Students who earn the highest score in the conference's competition will receive an award.
