Emergent Scholar Lecture to Feature Expert on Co-Teacher Training Nov. 17

Dr. Pik Wah Lam, a general education teacher from Hong Kong, will be the featured speaker for the Emergent Scholar Lecture set for 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17 in Gonzales Auditorium, room 108, of the Liberal Arts Building on the Hattiesburg campus. Admission is free and faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend.

Dr. Lam's presentation is titled “Teaching Pre-Service Teachers Co-Teaching: An Interactive Co-Teaching Training Protocol.” She has conducted research on the potential positive impacts of training for co-teachers working in grades K-12, especially those working with students who have disabilities and placed in general education settings. Dr. Lam also has training in working with families and individuals with autism.

The Emergent Scholar Lecture Series is presented by the Southern Miss Department of Educational Studies and Research.
