Registration Open for Southern Miss Comcast Golf Classic October 10 at Canebrake Country Club

Registration is underway for the 13^th Annual Southern Miss Comcast Golf Classic to be held Oct. 10 at Canebrake Country Club in Hattiesburg, Miss.

This year's tournament features four divisions:  students (college), faculty/staff, alumni/community and Canebrake. High school students can participate within the alumni/community division but cannot compete for prizes. Golfers with professional status or currently on college golf teams are not eligible to participate. The format is a two-person scramble utilizing gross scores to determine division and flight winners. There will be two flights per division, the Championship and Joe Paul Flight.

Annually, the Southern Miss Comcast Golf Classic provides scholarships and stipends to more than 40 students, as well as leadership training and professional development opportunities for students and staff.

“I'm honored and excited to have won this scholarship in the hope that it will shine light on the spectacular organizations I am involved with such as the Southern Miss Activities Council and Recreational Sports,” said John Davenport, recipient of the 2015 Student Affairs Student Service Scholarship made possible by the Southern Miss Comcast Golf Classic.

Registration fees are $125 per player. Amenities include golf cart, green fees, practice range balls, lunch and dinner. Prizes will be awarded to 1^st-4^th place winners in each division and for the closest to the hole, longest drive, chipping and putting contests.
