Three Southern Miss Employees Nominated for One Coast Awards

University of Southern Mississippi staff members Megan Burkes, Christy Bjork, and Kady Pietz have been selected as Top 10 Under 40 nominees for the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce One Coast Awards. The winners will be announced on Nov. 17 at the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi.
Burkes is manager of Annual Giving and Special Projects for the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation. Bjork is the director of Student Affairs at the USM Gulf Park campus in Long Beach. Pietz is executive assistant to the Vice President at the Gulf Park campus.
Recognizing the wealth of outstanding business and community leaders across the Mississippi Gulf Coast, the Top 10 Under 40 and Community Leader Awards were developed to recognize community leaders and strong, up-and-coming young business leaders, and to hold them up as examples in the Roland Weeks Leadership Hall of Fame, named for the long time publisher of the Sun Herald.
