Southern Miss Alumni Association Hosts 21st Annual Eagle Fanfare

The Southern Miss Alumni Association, in conjunction with The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Athletics and the Southern Miss South Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter, will host the 21st Annual Eagle Fanfare on Saturday, August 13 from 2 – 4 p.m. at the Lake Terrace Convention Center in Hattiesburg.
Presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union and ServiceMaster, the event will feature Southern Miss coaches, administrators, athletes, cheerleaders and Seymour.
Admission to Eagle Fanfare is $5 per person or $20 per family. Children ages six and under are admitted free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and a silent auction will be held to raise money for the South Central Mississippi Alumni Chapter Scholarship Fund. Advanced tickets may be purchased online at SouthernMissAlumni.com/Fanfare2016 or at the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office at 2907 W. Fourth Street. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door of the event.
In addition to Eagle Fanfare, the Southern Miss Alumni Association and Eagle Club hosted similar parties in Jackson and along the Gulf Coast, which raised more than $12,000 for the local chapters' scholarship funds.
“We anticipate a large crowd of Southern Miss alumni and fans at Eagle Fanfare, and appreciate the support of Keesler Federal Credit Union and our local sponsors in making these events possible,” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. “Head Football Coach Jay Hopson, along with his coaching staff and players, will be in attendance as we kick off another successful season of Golden Eagle football!”

During the event, the local alumni chapter will recognize their local scholarship recipients, who will begin their freshman year at Southern Miss in the fall. Additionally, Golden Eagle merchandise will be available for purchase, and silent auctions will be held to raise money for scholarship funds and Eagle Club support.
