Southern Arena Theatre (SAT) returns for its 41st season at The University of Southern Mississippi with two classic plays, and after a wildly successful inaugural run last summer, the Improv Comedy Club is back to the delight of SAT fans throughout the Gulf South.

Boeing Boeing by Marc Cameletti opens SAT on June 8 at 7:30 p.m. Other showtimes are June 9, 10, 17, 22 and 28 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance is set for June 25 at 2 p.m. Deathtrap by Ira Levin opens June 15 at 7:30 p.m. with additional showtimes on June 16, 21, 24, 27 and 30, and a matinee on June 18 at 2 p.m.

The Improv Comedy Club has limited performances of Improvaganza! on June 20, 23 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. This show is included as part of the SAT season ticket. Limited seating is prioritized for season ticket holders, but individual tickets are available. A season ticket for all three events is only $25. Individual ticket prices are $16 per performance; individual ticket prices for faculty, staff, students, seniors and military are $13 per performance.

For ticket information, contact the Southern Miss ticket office by calling 800.844.8425 or by visiting www.southernmisstickets.com. All performances will be held in Hartwig Theatre in the Theatre and Dance Building on the Hattiesburg campus.

Boeing Boeing is an international hit which features self-styled Parisian lothario Bernard, who has Italian, German, and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent “layovers.” He keeps “one up, one down and one pending” until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Paris and Bernard's apartment -- all at the same time. Great Britain's Mail on Sunday review encourages us to “Fasten your seatbelts for the most deliriously funny flight of your life!"

Ira Levin's Deathtrap is an ingeniously constructed play offering a rare and skillful blending of two priceless theatrical ingredients - gasp-inducing thrills and spontaneous laughter. Dealing with the devious machinations of a writer of thrillers whose recent offerings have been flops, and who is prepared to go to any lengths to improve his fortunes, it provides twists and turns and sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be held spellbound until the very last moment.

The Improv Comedy Club's presentation of Improvaganza promises to be an evening of theatre improv, sketch comedy and comic relief. Trained by resident company Skip the Script, the club's performers will delight audiences with only a few loose scenarios and prompts.

SAT support comes from Southern Miss, the College of Arts and Letters, the Department of Theatre and Dance, Partners for the Arts, local corporations and from individual SAT donors. For more information about Southern Arena Theatre, visit usm.edu/theatre.
