Southern Entrepreneurship Program Kickoff Set for Oct. 23

The Southern Entrepreneurship Program (SEP) is set to kick off its 12th annual series of youth trainings and competitions on Tuesday, Oct. 23rd at Hinds Community College in Raymond, Miss.

More than 450 students and educators, representing dozens of high schools from across the state, have registered to attend this year's event. SEP programming is a cornerstone service of the Center for Economic and Entrepreneurship Education, housed within The University of Southern Mississippi's College of Business and Economic Development.

Phi Kappa Tau Celebrating 70 Years at Southern Miss

One of the oldest Greek Life organizations at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) is marking its 70th anniversary during homecoming week at the school. The Beta Epsilon Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity was chartered on the USM campus Oct. 15, 1948, when the university was known as Mississippi Southern College.

USM Baseball, Softball Teams to Host Annual Trick or Treat Event

The University of Southern Mississippi baseball and softball teams will play host to the 6th Annual Trick or Treat at The Pete, Thursday, Oct. 25, from 5:30-7 p.m., at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. The event will take place in the main concourse of the facility, as well as on the game field.

USM will conduct its annual Homecoming parade beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. The parade will roll east down Hardy Street from the Midtown Shopping Center to the main entrance of campus. Gloria Peterson, an associate with Aramark's Eagle Dining and Fresh Food Company, has been chosen to serve as grand marshal.
