Mississippi Polymer Institute to Celebrate 25th Anniversary with Open House on Nov. 15

To celebrate 25 years of providing comprehensive, transformative service to clients throughout South Mississippi, the Mississippi Polymer Institute (MPI) is holding a special anniversary open house that will include guest speakers, tours and an after-hours reception.

The event is set for Nov. 15 from 10:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. with a business-after-house reception from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at The Accelerator in The University of Southern Mississippi's Innovation and Commercialization Park.

FestivalSouth® to Open 10th Season with Broadway Musical "Sister Act"

FestivalSouth® opens its 10th anniversary season in June, 2019 with Broadway's singing, dancing, feel-good musical Sister Act. Based on the 1992 film and featuring original music by Tony- and eight-time Oscar winner, Alan Menken (Newsies, Beauty and the Beast, Little Shop of Horrors), this uplifting musical was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

-Today, Oct. 29, Kyle Fulcher, CEO of Mississippi/Arkansas AG, will address USM business marketing students from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in Scianna Hall, Room 1008. He will address the challenges and advantages of the franchise/franchisee relationship. Mississippi Ag is a growing equipment dealership operating 15 John Deere stores in Arkansas (5) and Mississippi (10). 

-On Tuesday, Oct. 30 British author Dr. Kevin Bales, one of the world's foremost authorities on human slavery, will present a guest lecture at 6:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. The event is co-sponsored by the University Forum, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the Honors College. The lecture is free and open to the public. -On Tuesday, Oct. 30 the USM baseball and softball teams will be hosting Trick or Treat at the Pete. The event is set for 5:30-7 p.m. at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field. Children of all ages are welcome to come out in their best Halloween costumes and enjoy Trick or Treat festivities with the Southern Miss baseball and softball players and coaches. Each Golden Eagle squad will be in their favorite Halloween costumes during the event.
