Welcome to the daily email for media members that includes news and notes from The University of Southern Mississippi. Today's email includes a news release about the annual Gulf Coast Beach Bash being held this evening in Biloxi. In addition, University Assistant Police Chief Rusty Keyes and Officer Kenny Woodard are available to discuss active shooter training and civilian response as part of a training session being held on the Hattiesburg campus today.

Southern Miss Alumni Association Hosts 20th Annual Beach Bash

The Southern Miss Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Department of Athletics, will host the 20th Annual Gulf Coast Beach Bash today from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Biloxi Civic Center. All Southern Miss fans are invited to visit with Southern Miss coaches, athletes, cheerleaders and Seymour.

Admission to the Gulf Coast Beach Bash is $15 per person (ages 12 and older). This family friendly event will feature a live and silent auction. Ticket price includes dinner, and a cash bar will be available. Children under 12 are admitted for free. Campus Book Mart will be on site selling Southern Miss merchandise.

The USM Association of Office Professionals and the University Police Department are holding a Civilian Response to Active Shooter session at noon today at Cook Library of the Hattiesburg campus. University Assistant Police Chief Rusty Keyes and Officer Kenny Woodard will be on hand for possible interviews following the session.
