USM Staff Members Take Home Numerous Public Relations Awards

Marketing and public relations professionals at The University of Southern Mississippi have captured more than two dozen awards as part of annual competitions held by the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) and the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM).
USM took home 16 awards – including a Grand Award in print media – at the annual CPRAM conference held last month in Ridgeland, Miss.
Office of University Communications staff members won awards in the senior division of the annual CPRAM awards competition, which includes entries from the state's four-year public and private universities and colleges. USM staffers also collected five PRism awards (the highest honor possible) during the PRAM conference.
Dr. Faye Gilbert, dean of the USM College of Business, commended UC staffers and others who contributed to a CPRAM Best Overall Grand Award for the “College of Business Annual Report” submission.
“To me, the award simply marks the outcome of an exemplar I think we provide at Southern Miss, working together,” said Gilbert. “It begins with the faculty who do incredible work with our students and communities. It continues with the University photographer (Kelly Dunn) and the talented team in University Communications and our staff who provide guidance, visuals, structure, and help in telling our story. It concludes with the involvement of our alumni, advisory boards, and friends who expect to hear about our milestones and challenges so that we all strive to reach them. I am very pleased with the award and prouder still to be working in a culture where collaborative projects are the norm.”
