Special Coverage Opportunities

-The USM College and Business and Economic Development will honor its 2019 Entrepreneur of the Year during a banquet set for 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. today in the Thad Cochran Center Ballroom on the Hattiesburg campus. This year's honoree is longtime Hattiesburg restaurateur, chef, columnist and author Robert St. John. St. John has spent almost four decades in the restaurant business, with 30 of those as owner of the Purple Parrot, Crescent City Grill, Mahogany Bar, Branch, Tabella, Ed's Burger Joint, The Midtowner, and Midtown Donut. -The 2019 School of Polymer Science and Engineering Conference and Alumni Event will be held today from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Shelby F. Thames Polymer Science Research center on the Hattiesburg campus. The event will include celebration of polymer Professor Charles L. McCormick's storied career and upcoming retirement. The conference will also feature student posters highlighting current research, along with future plans associated with the School of Polymer Science and Engineering. Psychology Faculty Members Chosen for Lucas Award

Five University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Psychology faculty members have been chosen for the prestigious Aubrey Keith Lucas and Ella Ginn Lucas Endowment for Faculty Excellence Award.

The endowment was established in honor of USM President Emeritus Dr. Aubrey K. Lucas and his wife, Ella, to support and reward faculty excellence in instruction and research.

USM Wind Ensemble Presents Final Concert on April 29

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Wind Ensemble presents its final concert of the 2018-2019 school year on April 29 at 8 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. This performance is free and is open to the public. For this final concert, the USM Wind Ensemble will perform selections based on themes of the planets.
