USM School of Performing and Visual Arts Revelry Set for this Month

The University of Southern Mississippi School of Performing and Visual Arts presents its inaugural Revelry event, a multi-arts project that boasts over 40 events on Feb.15-23 at various locations.

The USM School of Performing and Visual Arts will dedicate nine days to special programming of artistic and creative activities, including master classes, workshops, guest and visiting artists, family-friendly events, and formal productions.

Associate Professor of History Abra to present for McCarthy Lecture Series Feb. 12

The 14th annual Richard McCarthy Lecture Series at The University of Southern Mississippi  continues Tuesday, Feb. 12 when associate professor of history Dr. Allison Abra presents “Those Very Gallant Women: Gender and Espionage in World War II Europe." Presented by USM's Dale Center for the Study of War and Society, this program will be held at 6 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building, room 101, on the Hattiesburg campus.

The University of Southern Mississippi will host its annual Arbor Day celebration on Friday, Feb. 8, at 1 p.m. with the unique edible orchard serving as the event site and focus of the ceremony. The orchard is located just south of the Payne Center on the Hattiesburg campus. Originally planted in 2016, the expanded orchard will include 16 new additions of fruit trees and berry bushes, including plum, olive, avocado, satsuma, and trellised apple trees, plus blueberries, grapes, and muscadine bushes.
