USM Set to Enter 2019 RecycleMania Competition

Coming off a year that saw an impressive uptick in productivity, The University of Southern Mississippi's Office of Sustainability is gearing up for another run in the 2019 RecycleMania Tournament.

The annual event is a national recycling competition that pits colleges and universities against each other for the title of top recycler. The eight-week competition will be held Feb. 3 - March 30.

Office of Leadership and Student Involvement to host 5th Student Leadership Summit Feb. 22

The Office of Leadership and Student Involvement in the Division of Student Affairs at The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) will host its 5th annual Student Leadership Summit Friday, Feb. 22 at the Trent Lott National Center on the Hattiesburg campus. The Summit is a free, one-day leadership conference for any USM student.

The 2019 ID8 Women in Technology Speaking Tour kicks off Friday with a presentation by Sheena Allen at 9:15 a.m. at Ocean Springs High School. A USM alum, Allen is an app developer and entrepreneur featured on CNN Money and listed in Forbes 30 under 30 in 2019 and Business Insider's 30 and under: The tech industry's rising stars in 2018. The speaking tour is sponsored by USM and Craig Newmark Philanthropies.
