USM Polymer Student Wins Prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

University of Southern Mississippi (USM) graduate student Reese Sloan is the latest in a long line of outstanding scholars to receive the prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship award.

Sloan, a Wiggins, Miss., native, is the University's 18th student, with a current enrollment, to earn an NSF fellowship in the past 12 years. This year the fellowship committee selected approximately 2,000 students from more than 13,000 applicants.

The University of Southern Mississippi recognized achievement in research, leadership, training, and service during its annual Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony, held May 3 at the Trent Lott Center on its Hattiesburg campus.
