Calculated Risk Leads to Life Changing Success for Dr. Chris Anderson

Dr. Chris Anderson graduated summa cum laude from The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in 1995 with a leadership resume almost as long as his current medical curriculum vitae. Outstanding Freshman Male, Excellence in Mississippi Scholar, Oliver Austin Scholar, Analytical Chemistry Award, Outstanding Junior in Chemistry, Undergraduate Research Fellowship Award, Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship, Best Undergraduate Research Presentation, Undergraduate Student Hall of Fame and induction into every honor society available for students. A member of the Honors College, Anderson left his mark in the academic ranks of Southern Miss alumni. And today, he is leaving his mark on the health of Mississippi.

Scholarly Efforts of Students Earn Recognition at annual Undergraduate Symposium on Research and Creative Activity

The expansion of knowledge in a wide variety of academic disciplines was on display April 27 at The University of Southern Mississippi's (USM) Hattiesburg campus during its annual Undergraduate Symposium on Research and Creative Activity, with students presenting and discussing their work while competing for awards and monetary prizes.

USM Veterans Center Partners with Local Support Agencies for Memorial Day Flag Planting

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Center for Military Veterans, Service Members and Families, in collaboration with the American Legion Post 24, the Hattiesburg-area Marine Corps League (Commiskey-Wheat Detachment) and VFW Posts 3036 and 5397 recently established a partnership for Memorial Day 2019 to honor fallen service members interred at local South Mississippi cemeteries.
