Renowned Expert on Court Testimony presenter for April 11 Colloquium at Trent Lott Center

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Psychology is co-sponsoring a special colloquium with Pine Grove Behavioral and Addiction Services featuring Dr. Stan Brodsky, professor emeritus at the University of Alabama, April 11 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Trent Lott National Center, room 103 on the USM Hattiesburg campus, with registration in the lobby. His presentation is titled “Testifying in Court: The Expert Expert Witness” and will be followed by a question and answer session.

Dr. Brodsky is a renowned expert in forensic psychology and a professor in the School of Psychology at The University of Alabama, where he coordinates the psychology-law Ph.D. concentration. His work specializes in the application of psychological knowledge to offenders, law, and legal issues. He is considered by many professionals and scholars to be the nation's leading expert on court testimony. In 2008, he was the recipient of the Distinguished Contributions to Psychology & Law Award of the American Psychology-Law Society. 

“We could not be more excited to have someone of Dr. Brodsky's notoriety coming to USM to give a talk on such an important topic,” said Dr. Joe Olmi, director of the USM School of Psychology. “As well, we are fortunate to be co-sponsoring this event with Pine Grove. We anticipate a large turnout and look forward to a fantastic opportunity to learn.”

This event is open to faculty, community professionals, and graduate students, and has been approved for one (1) continuing education unit (CEU) for licensed psychologists and social workers. Registration is free, but space is limited.
