Guest Artist Masterclass Featuring Fabio Angelo Colajanni Set for Oct. 5

The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Music presents its Guest Artist
Masterclass with Fabio Angelo Colajanni, flute and piccolo, on Saturday, Oct. 5 at
10:30 a.m. in Marsh Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. The event is free and open
to the public.
In his masterclass at USM, Italian flute and piccolo virtuoso Colajanni will focus on tone development, technique, and expression for piccolo. All participants are welcome to join the group exercises.
Fabio Angelo Colajanni has been the winner of several national and international competitions such as E. Krakamp, City of Ovada, and V. Bucchi. Colajanni also has recorded for various companies such as Naxos, Sony, Stradivarius, and Warner Classic.
“We are thrilled to have Colajanni do a masterclass here at Southern Miss,” said Professor of Flute Dr. Danilo Mezzadri.
Colajanni is currently Professor of flute and piccolo at the Anton Rubinsteinschool and at Conservatory of Latinain Gaeta.
Southern Miss Flute Studio fosters a supportive and stimulating learning environment that is based on solid technique and expressive tone. The flute studio has a record of excellence with students winning the prestigious USM Wind and Orchestra concerto competitions (nine winners in the past six years) and awards in regional and national competitions.
