The University of Southern Mississippi (USM) School of Music and Choral Activities proudly present this season’s holiday concerts: the Gulf Coast Civic Chorale Holiday Concert and the Holiday Choral Spectacular.

The Gulf Coast Civic Chorale Holiday Concert is set for Friday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. in Fleming Auditorium on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, Miss., and on Sunday, Nov. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral in Biloxi, Miss.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale is a community choir organized through the USM School of Music. Based on the University’s Gulf Park campus, the 65-member chorale performs across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

“The Southern Miss Gulf Coast Civic Chorale is a large group of folks who love music,” said Associate Director of Choral Activities Dr. Jonathan Kilgore. “These concerts are a great opportunity for passionate artists to come together and spread holiday cheer.”

For its Centennial season, the USM Symphony Orchestra will be joined by the USM Choirs, the Hattiesburg Choral Union, the Gulf Coast Civic Chorale, and the Hattiesburg middle and high school singers as they collaborate in the annual holiday community celebration. This event is presented in part by the generous support of Partners for the Arts.

Holiday Choral Spectacular will be held on Dec. 3 and Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Main Street Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, Miss.

Cost of admission for the Holiday Choral Spectacular is $20 each for the general public. Main Street Baptist Church is located on 11 Main Street Boulevard in Hattiesburg, MS, 39401.

Both Gulf Coast Civic Chorale Holiday Concerts are free. Fleming Auditorium is located on 203 Bear Point Drive in Long Beach, MS, 38560. The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral is located on 870 Howard Avenue in Biloxi, MS, 38530.
