A dancerThe University of Southern Mississippi (USM) Dance Program presents its Repertory Dance Company Fall Concert on Nov. 14, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m. in Studio 115 of the Theatre and Dance Building on the Hattiesburg campus.

The Repertory Dance Company Fall Concert will include new works choreographed by USM Dance Program students and faculty, as well as a featured work by guest artist Rosanna Tavarez.

“In this work: states of anxiety, fear, aspiration, inspiration, judgment and freedom are alternately expressed in reflective and humorous ways,” says guest artist Rosanna Tavarez. “This will be an inspiring evening of contemporary dance that you won’t want to miss.”

“My piece gives perspective into the internal conflict that we as beings filled with emotion do not allow others to see. In reality, we want someone to see us, empathize with us, and relate to us,” said senior performance and choreography major A’Miracle Fagan. “My hope is that the audience will decipher their own story and seek a personal connection to themselves and the souls of the dancers.”

The Repertory Dance Company will showcase one concert for the fall semester and two concerts in the spring. Each of these concerts will provide the audience with completely different experiences of the type of dance performed at USM.

Price of admission is $15 for general public; $10 for faculty, staff, seniors, and military; and $6 for students. Tickets will be available at the door.
