Southern Miss Alumni Association Presents University Christmas Tree

The Southern Miss Alumni Association is proud to present The University of Southern Mississippi’s 2019 Christmas Tree, located on the south lawn of the Aubrey K. Lucas Administration Building on the Hattiesburg campus.

Alumni treeThe 17-foot Leyland Cypress is adorned with more than 4,000 lights and decorated in red and gold to celebrate the holiday season. The tree will be lit until campus closes for winter break on Friday, Dec. 20. 

“We are honored to present the University’s Christmas Tree to both the University and Hattiesburg communities,” said Jerry DeFatta, executive director of the Southern Miss Alumni Association. “Our mission as an organization is to advance the work of our beloved University and we take great pride in doing our part to help take the institution to new and greater heights. When opportunities arise to preserve traditions while also contributing to the greater good of our communities, our work becomes even more meaningful.”

Alumni and friends of Southern Miss are invited to visit campus during the winter break, take photos and share them on social media, tagging the Southern Miss Alumni Association on Facebook, Instagram (@USMalumni) and Twitter (@USMalumni).
