The University of Southern Mississippi's College of Business and Economic Development has been recognized among the nation's best in national rankings recently announced by a pair of online publications.

College Consensus, a unique new college ratings website that aggregates publisher rankings and student reviews, has included USM in its guide to the 50 Best Online Undergraduate Business Programs 2019 at https://www.collegeconsensus.com/online/best-online-business-schools/.

College Consensus notes that online business degree programs - whether it's straight through freshman to graduation, or a bachelor's completion program building on an associate's degree - are a convenient, flexible way to start a business career or advance a current career. College Consensus has ranked the 50 online undergraduate business programs that have a proven track record, from many authorities, for making a real difference in graduates' lives.

Schools in the 50 Online Undergraduate Business Schools are all accredited institutions and were ranked according to 3 factors: Affordability (33%), Convenience (33%), and Reputation (33%).

In another significant ranking, USM is listed at No. 18 in SR Education Group's 2019 Most Affordable Masters in Sport Management Online survey (https://www.onlineu.org/most-affordable-colleges/sports-management-masters-degrees?utm_source=IMAP&utm_medium=email). To be considered for these subject rankings, schools must be regionally accredited and need to offer at least one fully online degree in a given subject for the degree level of the list.

Tuitions were manually researched and reflect the degree level of the list. Out-of-state tuitions were used unless in-state tuition is offered to all online students.

“These national rankings are a testament to our faculty and staff that strive to provide students with innovative course delivery options. This recognition also builds upon our growing reputation as an institution and college that provides a quality education at an affordable cost. Our college offers a relevant curriculum with applied experiences that prepares students to have an immediate impact in their chosen profession,” said Dr. Stacey A. Hall, acting dean of USM's College of Business and Economic Development.

USM's Master of Science in Sport Management prepares professionals for advanced careers in the expanding sport industry by enhancing their critical thinking skills and exposing them to expert knowledge and research in the field of sport. The curriculum has been designed and developed and enable students to acquire and demonstrate a set of management skills and an understanding of the sport industry through a combination of required core courses, electives, research and experiential components.

This master's degree program is available fully online, in the classroom, or a combination of online and traditional courses.
