University of Southern Mississippi (USM) graduate student Ali Duffey has been awarded a 2019 scholarship from the Healthy Aging Dietetics Practice Group through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation.

Duffey, a native of Reading, Pa., is currently attending USM through the University’s online program from her home in Naples, Fla. She has worked in geriatrics for more than 20 years as a Registered Nurse and decided to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Clinical Nutrition a year ago.

“You have to apply for this scholarship, and I was quite honored to learn that I had been chosen for it,” said Duffey.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation was established in 1966 and is the only charitable organization devoted exclusively to promoting nutrition and dietetics. The Foundation exists as the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
